Dec 2, 2003 - OHHCPA Executive Director, Sue VanderBent, as Chair of the Ontario Home and Community Care Council, participated in the "SARS and Community Care (203 kb Powerpoint)" presentation at the keynote address of the Canadian Home Care Association Conference. May 30, 2003 - The Board of Directors of the Ontario Home Health Care Providers' Association is proud to announce that Sue VanderBent, Executive Director, has been awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal. The Commemorative Medal for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee was created to mark the 50th anniversary of the accession of Her Majesty to the Throne on February 6, 1952. The medal was awarded to Sue VanderBent in recognition of her role in the 'development of collaborative partnerships in home care through joint organizational initiatives and working ventures'.

July 22, 2003 - Recent Funding Announcement for Home and Community Care Sector

The OHHCPA is happy to inform its members that after successful advocacy for the sector, the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) has announced an increase of $19.7M for CCACs across Ontario. The increase has been released according to the equity funding formula used by the MOHLTC to address equity issues among CCACs across the province. A complete breakdown of funding for CCACs by geographic region is available from the OHHCPA office. The provincial total for home care in Ontario for the 2003/04 fiscal year is $1,184,983,019B.
