care is an example of a health service that used to be delivered publicly through
government-funded health units but is now delivered entirely by the private
sector through for-profit companies like Para-med and Comcare and not-for-profit
organizations such as the Red Cross and Saint Elizabeth Health Care. The local
VON also provided home nursing services until recently. Read
