February 25, 2020 – ONTARIO – Home Care Ontario, the voice of home care in OntarioTM, applauds the government for delivering on its commitment to end hallway health care and build a connected and sustainable healthcare system centred around the needs of patients. A robust home care system is an integral part of helping people to go home from the hospital, to continue to live at home and receive care as they age in place.

“Home Care Ontario welcomes the government's move to modernize home and community care,” said Sue VanderBent, CEO, Home Care Ontario.  “Today’s changes will allow patients to better access the right care, at the right time, and in the right place.  These changes will make the system work more efficiently, and ultimately will allow local health teams to better work together to keep people healthier at home.”

Home Care Ontario will continue to support the transformation of Ontario’s health system and looks forward to working together with the government to allow even more care to be delivered at home.
